The trauma course provides a common-sense approach to trauma care provision in the single MD, rural environment where extensive blood supplies, CT and surgery are not necessarily available. It consists of 9 high fidelity scenarios as well as a practice session that focuses on three key trauma skills: chest tubes insertion, IO insertion and cricothyroidotomy.
Accredited by the Canadian College of Family Physicians for 6.5 registered credits.
